I'm working with a early-stage robotics startup on a mission to make robots commonplace.
The team is looking for a Research Scientist to help architect and deploy the machine learning models that power their next-generation robotic systems. This is a chance to take cutting-edge research, imitation learning, RL, and vision-language-action (VLA) models
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Training, deploying, and maintaining manipulation models on physical systems
• Building autonomy stacks using imitation learning, RL, and VLA approaches
• Developing robust teleoperation and data collection frameworks
• Extending state-of-the-art robotics research and adapting it for real-world use
• Iterating hands-on with real robots in the San Francisco lab
• Collaborating with a highly skilled, design-conscious engineering team
What We’re Looking For:
• PhD (or near completion) in Robotics, Machine Learning, or related field
• Strong publication record (NeurIPS, ICRA, RSS, CoRL, T-RO, etc.)
• Expertise in robot learning - imitation learning, RL, or Video Generation
• Experience deploying models on real-world robotic systems
• Ability to lead independent research and thrive in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
